P15‐10: A rare case of May‐Thurner syndrome presenting as venous thromboembolism: A case report.
- Abstract
Patient underwent aspiration thrombectomy and catheter directed thrombolysis which resulted to significant decrease in size of thrombus right and left main pulmonary arteries. CT venography showed extrinsic compression of the left common iliac vein by the overlying right common iliac artery consistent with May-Thurner Syndrome. 1 Chinese General Hospital, Philippines May-Thurner syndrome (MTS), also known as iliac vein compression syndrome, is a condition where the left common iliac vein is compressed by the overlying right common iliac artery resulting to vessel wall injury and thrombosis.
