- Abstract
Masson hemangioma also known as intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia (IPEH) is a reactive, proliferative, benign tumor which originates from vascular structures. Clinically IPEH represents a nodule with slight elevation, rather sharp elevation and a red or blue color of the overlying skin. Masson's tumor must be differentiated from endothelioma, hemangioma, angiosarcoma and malign endovascular papilloma. Case report; Sixty three-years-old woman presented with a nodule on right foot plantar region. The nodule totally excised. Discussion and conclusions; Masson's tumor is a rare proliferative benign lesion of skin and soft tissue. The pathogenesis of IPEH is debated but stasis and thrombus formation in vascular lumen triggers the neoplastic process of the tumor. Total excision of the tumor is preferred treatment .
