- Abstract
The article focuses on various infectious diseases of economic and regional importance in aquaculture in the North Pacific. It presents major pathogens of importance to cultured and wild aquatic animals in Canada which include spring viraemia of carp, infectious pancreatic necrosis, and koi herpesvirus disease. It says that the Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) has the responsibility for the health of aquatic animals with its authority coming from the Fish Health Protection Regulations (FHPR).
