- Abstract
The article discusses the key issues relating to the development and use of high-quality disease-specific models for economic evaluations of health technologies. These include the development process for diseases-specific models, the model's structure, parameters, and assumptions, and implementation issues. Also outlined are the three major types of uncertainty of decision-analytic model outcomes, namely, parameter uncertainty, methodological, and structural uncertainty.
