An editorial is presented which addresses the author's views about legal- and public health-based responses to climate change, and it mentions an article by A.D. Moulton which appears in the same issue. Model climate change laws are examined, along with the data collection, analysis, and diffusion capabilities of state public health agencies and personnel in America. Climate change epidemiology in the U.S. is assessed.
