- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 61-year-old renal transplant recipient on mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) with steroids who presented with chronic diarrhea and substantial weigh loss. The patient received cadaveric renal transplant in October 2003 after previously undergoing left-sided native nephrectomy. His diarrhea was attributed to MMF and his treament was converted to enteric-coated mycophenolic sodium (EC-MPS) without effect. A discussion on diarrhea in renal transplant recipients giving emphasis on differential diagnosis and workup is presented.
