The article focuses on the consequence of gender stereotyping within criminal justice processing and supervision and its effect on women's criminal identity. Topics discussed include cognitive and behavioral consequences of women for committing a crime, criminal behavior in context of social identity and the impact of criminality on the self-concept of women on the basis of gender difference in the criminal justice system.
