- Abstract
The article discusses the collective management of copyrights and various licensing models for online music services in the European Union (EU) as of August 2011, focusing on customized management programs and efforts to harmonize national copyright laws in an entity which is referred to as the "Information Society." The European Commission and Internet-based music services such as iTunes, Rhapsody, and Pandora are examined in relation to digital piracy prevention efforts.
