- Abstract
The article discusses the assessment of myocardial viability and risk stratification in patients with coronary chronic total occlusion (CTO) using stress cardiac MRI. CTO is a common problem in patients with coronary artery disease, and percutaneous interventions in CTO patients can be challenging. The article highlights the importance of confirming viability within the at-risk zone and discusses the potential benefits of stress cardiac MRI in evaluating CTO patients. The study presented in the article evaluates 51 patients with CTO and demonstrates that stress perfusion cardiac MRI can provide valuable information for the management of CTO patients. The article suggests that stress perfusion cardiac MRI may be underutilized in the evaluation of this patient group and calls for further research on its applications.
