- Authors

- Abstract
The article focuses on the thesis which aims to investigate on whether the monumental burial complexes discovered between 1981 and 1983 in Nijmegen-west, Netherlands have shown influences form the Roman and Mediterranean. It says that people buried in the cemetery are most likely Batavians and had no Roman origin due to the large wooden grave chambers with costly grave gifts. It adds that ancestors of the community may be determined by graves built within the walled enclosures.
