- Abstract
The article presents a commentary on the presence of urban regimes in Canada discussed in the article on political economy of urban redevelopment by Timothy Cobban. The commentary focuses on the issue of downtown revitalization in London, Ontario. According to the author, most of the studies on Canadian urban politics put much attention on the structures of governance and a wide range of administrative issues such as poverty and gender related questions, land use, housing and immigration, and municipal finance. Little attentions were given to the actual process of decision-making that involves governance, power organization and wielding, and the beneficiaries.
