- Abstract
The editorial reports on a study which models the impact of spillover prescribing resulting from programs aiming to shorten the time to antimicrobials in septic shock cases. Despite potential adverse events, the study suggests that the mortality benefits from earlier antimicrobial administration outweigh the risks, encouraging the implementation of such programs, but emphasizes the need for ongoing empirical data collection to assess longer-term impacts and potential harms.
