- Abstract
The article presents a study which assesses the long-term efficacy, tolerability, and retention rate of azathioprine (AZA) in patients with aquaporin-4 antibody-positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder in Great Britain. A retrospective review of medical records of 103 aquaporin-4 antibody-positive NMO and NMO spectrum disorder (NMOSD) patients who were treated with AZAwas conducted. The study found that AZA is a modestly effective treatment for NMO when use continuously.
