- Title
Comparison of brain maturation among species: an example in translational research suggesting the possible use of bumetanide in newborn.
- Authors
Pressler, Ronit; Auvin, Stéphane
- Abstract
The authors explore the possible use of bumetanide in newborns based on research that compared brain maturation among species. They cite several criteria used in comparing brain maturation among species, including cerebral growth, neurogenesis and synaptogenesis. They present a table showing comparative development of the cortex between laboratory rodents and humans using several criteria. They also recommend further research on bumetanide.
