- Abstract
The article presents a study which proposes a method in calculating surface mass balance (SMB) to enable a direct adjustment of SMB to a change in ice sheet topography or climate forcing. It notes that such strategy is based from the elevational gradients in the SMB field as calculated by a regional climate model. Moreover, it mentions that such experiments are applied to the Greenland Ice Sheet (GrIS) utilizing both steady-state forcing and glacial-interglacial forcing.
