- Abstract
The article presents a study on the relationship between bacterial load and the healing rate in neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers. Saline was used in flushing wound exudates and necrotic tissues were removed by local debridement. Staphylococcus (S.) aureus and S. epidermidis were the bacterial species present in the wound fluid. Base on the results, it was concluded that high bacterial load might contribute to impaired wound healing.
