- Abstract
The article discusses the Law of the River, the evolution of the Navajo Nation claim and how Indian water rights suit into the legal system in Colorado. It explores the settlement negotiations and the lawsuit filed by the Navajo Nation against the Department of the Interior to resolve its huge share of the Colorado River. It states that the settlement can provide necessary supplies of water for commercial purposes and deliver adequate drinking water to the western half of the reservation.
