- Abstract
The article features Mike Libby, an artist from Portland, Maine who combines biology and technology to create bioart sculptures. According to the author, the artistic inspiration of the Libby in blending nature and technology happened when he encountered a colourful beetle lying dead beside a vending machine. Libby calls his works of art as a celebration of natural and man-made function. The technique of Libby in creating his pieces is discussed. His art project called as "Tropidacris dux," a gigantic American grasshopper is highlighted.
