- Abstract
The article "Rebe Digital: Real-time analysis and forecasting of water balance in viticulture" reports on the research project EXPRESS, which deals with the digital transformation of viticulture. The project aims to provide winegrowers with current information and forecasts on the water needs and water supply of their plants. For this purpose, sensors are used to collect data on microclimate, plant development, and soil properties. The first results show that a simulation model can predict drought stress in viticulture. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and includes 14 experimental fields. Digitization offers winegrowers new options for action and improves work efficiency in viticulture.
