Tiroid ve/veya Paratiroid Cerrahisinde Minimal Akımlı Anestezi ile Düşük Akımlı Anestezinin Oksidatif Stres Üzerine Olan Etkilerinin ve Maliyetlerinin Karşılaştırılması.

- Abstract
Objective: We aimed to compare minimal flow versus low flow anesthesia in regard of oxidative stress and cost-effectivity. Materıals And Methods: Sixty patients scheduled for thyroid and parathyroid surgery were enrolled in this study. They were randomized into two groups; group 1 (DA), for low flow anesthesia (1 L/min) (n=30) and group 2 (MA), for minimal flow anesthesia (0,5 L/min) (n= 30). Before and 24 hours after the surgery, blood were taken to assess levels of free sulhydril groups of ceruloplasmin (SH), NGAL, cystatin-C (CYT-C), paroxonase (PON), aryl esterase (AREST), lipid hydroperoxide (LOOH), total antioxidative status (TAS), total oxidative status (TOS), oxidative stress index (OSI). Anesthetic agent consumption and cost analysis were done. Results: There was no statistical difference between two groups in terms of demographic data, hemodynamic variables, end-tidal CO2, peripheral saturation of oxygen, and duration of anesthesia and surgery (p> 0.05). The SH, TAS and CYT-C levels in the 1st postoperative hour were found statistically higher in the MA group (p< 0.05). The SH levels in the 24th hour postoperatively were found statistically lower in the DA group (p< 0.05). Conclusion: Despite the reductions in cost in minimal flow anesthesia, it has to take into consideration that the antioxidative parameters are lowered. We think that larger clinical studies are necessary.
