- Abstract
Partial widths of the γγ decay of the tensor q&qmacr; states A[SUB2](1320),f[SUB2](1270), and f2(1525) and their radial excitations a[SUB2](1660),f[SUB2](1640), and f[SUB2](1800), as well as [SUP3]F[SUB2]q&qmacr; states, are calculated. Calculations are performed in the framework of the same approach that was used before for the study of radiative decays f[SUB0](980), γγa[SUB0](980)→ and φ(1020)→γf[SUB0](980): the assumption made is that of q&qmacr; structure of F[SUB0](980) and a[SUB0](980) [A.V)Anisovich et al., Phys. Lett. B 456, 80 (1999); Yad. Fiz. 65, 523 (2002)]. The description of the decay partial widths for a[SUB2](1320), f[SUB2](1270), f[SUB2](1525) and f[SUB0](980), a[SUB0](980)(is reached)with the approximately equal radial wave functions, thus giving a strong argument in favor of the fact that these scalar and tensor mesons are to be classified as members of the same P-wave q&qmacr; multiplet.
