The article analyzes the lyric poem "Upon Julia's Clothes," by Robert Herrick. The author explores theories on what the clothing imagery means, argues that the origins of the poem were developed from Herrick's reading of classical poet Ovid's "Metamorphoses," and examines his use of the words liquefaction and vibration.
