- Abstract
The article presents a study on the HLH54F helix-loop-helix transcription factor gene from Drosophila melanogaster fruit fly. The study applied expressed sequence tag (EST) database analysis of silkworm Bombyx mori to distinguish the genes greatly expresses in the prothoracic gland (PG) as component in ecdysteroid biosynthesis. The findings show that the genes associated in ecdysone biosynthesis can be figured out by discovering EST clones improved in the prgv, fprw, and ovS3 libraries.
