- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines remission prediction in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with rapid rate of peripheral blood blast (PBB) clearance. The study revealed that 82 patients obtained complete remission (CR) after chemotherapy's single course in 106 patients where PBB kinetics were modeled. It showed that rapid PBB clearance, as indicated by a big decay constant (x), was highly predictive of CR achievement, having x = 1.18 optimal cutoff.
