- Abstract
The article presents a study which evaluates the effectiveness of a school-based social competence curriculum Providing Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS) on behavior disorders in children. The role of child characteristics and economic factors on the effectiveness of the violence prevention program is outlined. The behavior disorders examined in the study are highlighted which include prosocial behavior, teacher-aggressive behavior and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
