- Abstract
The authors reflect on the importance and benefits of open or accessible scientific journals and the efforts by the "Online Brazilian Journal of Nursing (OBJN) to address the barriers that affect its accessibility. Also cited are the launching of the Open Science movement that aims to convince societies to participate and benefit from the scientific discovery process and how the shift to digital media enhances access by the general population.
