- Abstract
Der Online-Handel stellt die Weichen für die Zukunft des Einzelhandels. Der Bekleidungseinzei handel ist davon in einem besonderen Maße betroffen, da der Online-Handel hier immer höhe re Marktanteile gewinnt. Dabei entwickeln sich die etablierten Online-Händler zunehmend von Marktteilnehmern zu Marktanbietern. Ihre Marktmacht misst sich in dem Ausmaß ihrer Vernet zung, sowohl vertikal mit Herstellern und Kunden als auch horizontal mit anderen Marktteilneh mern, unter anderem dem stationären Handel. Diese Marktstrategie eröffnet dem stationären Han del neues Geschäftspotenzial. Den Umfrageergebnissen des ifo Instituts zufolge befindet sich der stationäre Fachhandel im Anpassungsprozess. Einem beträchtlichen Anteil der Händler gelingt es bereits, Kunden über mehrere Kanäle - stationär und online - zu gewinnen. Gleichzeitig findet ein Konzentrationsprozess statt. Von der Marktbereinigung bedroht sind sowohl im stationären als auch im Online-Handel sowie in den betreffenden Industrien vor allem Unternehmen, denen es nicht gelingt, mit der zunehmenden Vernetzung Schritt zu halten. Eine der zentralen Heraus forderungen für den Fachhandel und die vorangelagerten Industrien besteht darin, den elektroni schen Datenaustausch auf einen zeitgemäßen, internationalen Standard zu bringen. Eine weitere grundlegende Voraussetzung für die digitale Vernetzung ist eine moderne Breitbandinfrastruktur. Im Hinblick auf die Zukunft des Einzelhandels wäre es falsch, aus der heutigen Bedarfslage auf die zukünftige Bedarfssituation zu schließen, denn auch im Einzelhandel wird der Breitbandbedarf ansteigen. Daher ist die Digitale Agenda der Bundesregierung auch für die Zukunft des Einzelhan dels von hoher Bedeutung.
