- Abstract
The article presents a study which explored the effects of food additive Brilliant blue G as a P2X7 receptor antagonist on microglial activation and inflammation. The immunofluorescence method and RNA interference were utilized to block the receptor expression and suppressed the cyclooxygenase-2 and interleukin-6 in BV2 cells. Result shows that the brilliant blue G was involved in the inhibition of microglial activation and inflammation.
