- Abstract
The article explores the efficacy of a combination of functional exercise training and promyogenic therapy for the prevention and treatment of mobility-disability in older adults. It describes the characteristics of traditional progressive resistance exercise training and functional exercise training. It highlights pharmacological function-promoting promyogenic therapies such as testosterone, nonsteroidal selective androgen receptor modulators, and growth hormone secretagogues.
