- Abstract
The article presents a medical case of a 49-year-old white woman presented with the complaint of a several-day history of persistent, sharp, right mid-abdominal pain that began suddenly following a laughing spell. The patient reported a past medical history of radical hysterectomy for stage IIa endometrial carcinoma 4 years earlier, thyroid lobectomy for symptomatic multinodular goiter, hypertension, coronary artery disease, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Her medications included lansoprazole, niacin, atenolol, aspirin, and hydrochlorothiazide.
