- Abstract
The article presents information on the Ramsar Convention (RC) which is an intergovernmental treaty which deals with the ecosystem and provides a framework for effective and efficient utilization of wetlands. As stated, RC has classified the wetlands into three categories including marine and coastal wetlands, inland wetlands, and human-made wetlands. RC also mentions that wetlands are water areas consisting either static or flowing water and are storehouses of plant genetic materials.
