- Abstract
The article describes a study which determined the effectiveness of a regular weight measurement throughout pregnancy in lowering excessive gestational weight gain during pregnancy. The study has conducted a randomised controlled trial on 236 pregnant women at a tertiary obstetric hospital in Melbourne, Victoria. It reveals that intervention has substantially lowered gestational weight gain in women who were overweight but not obese during the start of the study.
