- Abstract
The article presents a survey of the Elmidae family of the beetle (Coleoptera) population in Peru as of April 2015. The beetles, which are commonly called riffle beetles, have a plastron and well developed tarsal claws. Also cited are the beetles' habitat near cool and well oxygenated flowing waters and their foods, mainly algae and decaying wood.
