- Abstract
In this article the authors reflect on the role of theory in medical education research by focusing on the discussion paper of Suzanne Bunniss and Diane R. Kelly. The authors mention that Bunniss and Kelly encourage the use of theory for the improvement of the medical education research. They discusses the advantages of macro and micro theories to research in medical education such as help facilitate several processes like designing the study, interpret data, and generalize study findings.
