Presents a study that compared the transmission and incision properties of two carbon dioxide laser radiation delivery systems, the Hopkins carbon dioxide laser laparoscope and the hollow waveguide. Disadvantage of the carbon dioxide laser; Explanation on the ability of the waveguide to transmit carbon dioxide laser power with less loss of transmission; Factors that influence the photothermal interaction process between soft tissue and carbon dioxide laser.
