- Abstract
The article presents a study that investigates the role of endothelial PAS domain protein 1 (EPAS1) in the activation of intestinal epithelium to promote colitis. It describes the method of the study that uses a series of genetic mouse models to show the importance of EPAS 1. It also mentions the result of the study which indicates that hypoxia regulates the expression of inflammatory mediators in an EPAS1 manner.
