- Abstract
The article focuses on several officials who have encountered trouble in handling evidence for criminal procedures in the U.S. in 1994 as identified in a Gannett News Service review of legal and crime material. These officials were reportedly accused of fabricating, concealing, mishandling or tampering with evidence involving fingerprints, blood typing and other faulty crime laboratory work. They include Cook County, Illinois assistant state's attorney Jay C. Magnuson, Chicago police district commander Milton Deas and Texas psychiatrist James Grigson.
