- Abstract
Objetivos: Presentar los datos sobre nutrición enteral domiciliaria (NED) en nuestro país durante el año 2006. Material y métodos: Estudio realizado mediante la base de datos del grupo NADYA (www.nadya-senpe.com) del nuevo registro de pacientes con NED. Resultados: Se han comunicado 3.471 pacientes (50% mujeres) de 25 hospitales con 3.564 episodios de NED. La edad media en los < 14 años fue de 4,17 ± 4,18 DE y de 67,01 ± 18,33 en los >14 años. La duración media de la NED fue de 257 días/paciente. El 11% de los pacientes recibieron NED por un tiempo < a 3 meses, 11% 3-6 meses, 16% 6-12 meses, 33% de 1-2 años y 30% > 2 años. El diagnóstico más frecuente en nuestra serie fue la enfermedad neurológica en un 41% de los casos. En los < de 14 años el 89% recibieron la NED por vía oral, 8% sonda nasogástrica y 3% gastrostomía. En los > 14 años la vía de administración fue oral en el 42%, sonda nasogástrica 42%, gastrostomía 14% y yeyunostomía 2%. A lo largo del año finalizaron 511 episodios de NED, en todos los < de 14 años por paso a alimentación oral y en los > 14 años las causas más frecuentes fueron por fallecimiento 41% y por pasar a alimentación oral 40%. El nivel de actividad fue normal en el 73% de los < de 14 años, mientras que en los > 14 años el 42% estaban confinados en silla/cama y el 30% tenían una actividad limitada. Entre los adultos, el 70% requerían ayuda total o parcial y el 30% eran autónomos. La nutrición enteral fue suministrada por el hospital de referencia en el 62% de los casos y por la farmacia de referencia en el 37%. El material fungible fue suministrado por el hospital en el 78% de los casos y por atención primaria en el 21%. Conclusiones: La patología neurológica es el diagnóstico más frecuente en nuestra serie. Más de la mitad de los pacientes recibieron NED por un período superior a 12 meses. La vía de administración más frecuente, tanto en niños como en adultos, fue la oral. La causa más frecuente de finalización de la NED fue el paso a alimentación oral. La mayoría de los adultos tratados con NED presentaban una disminución de su actividad y requerían ayuda total o parcial.
