- Abstract
The article focuses on the non-enzymatic hydrolysis of RNA in Nylanderia pubens ant workers. It characterizes the endogenous RNA-degrading entity observed during the preparation of total RNA from adult Nylanderia pubens for use in library construction to screen for pathogens. The authors note that the RNA-degrading effect can be mitigated by adding appropriate concentration of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA).
