- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the use of persistent and live replicating recombinant cytomegalovirus (CMV) vectors in delivering vaccine antigens. The study shows that T cells are associated with the treatment of viremia. It suggests that though the Rhesus CMV vectors expressing SIV proteins (RhCMV-SIV) is not much effective, T cells still play an important role in sustaining and initiating effective B cell immune responses.
