- Abstract
Exercise has been shown to be an effective strategy for preventing and treating high blood pressure. However, many individuals with hypertension do not engage in regular exercise due to various barriers, such as lack of knowledge, support, time constraints, and health problems. A recent study found that isometric exercise, specifically handgrip and wall squats, significantly reduced blood pressure in hypertensive adults. Additionally, self-monitoring of postexercise hypotension has been shown to improve exercise adherence in hypertensive individuals. It is important for health professionals to address these barriers and provide tailored approaches to help individuals with hypertension engage in regular exercise.
