- Abstract
The article discusses protection from alveolar mucosal injury during suspension laryngoscopy in the edentilous population. For edentulous patients, injury to the mucosa can occur during routine laryngoscopy for endotracheal intubation with the mere manipulation of the blade in the mouth. The authors share that high-density foam padding placed in the center between the laryngoscope and the alveolar mucosa has resulted in the prevention of injury in edentulous patients.
