- Abstract
A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of remote blood pressure monitoring and telehealth strategies in preventing readmission due to complications of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. The review included four RCTs with a total of 714 participants. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the rate of hospital readmission due to hypertensive complications between the group using remote blood pressure monitoring and the group receiving standard postpartum care. However, there was a significant difference in the emergency department visit rate between the two groups. The study concluded that remote blood pressure monitoring is not effective in preventing hypertensive-related readmission and may increase emergency department visits.
