- Abstract
The obsolescence of religion in the face of technology progress is an idea developed around some academic circles. For that reason, to technology is attributed a great superiority over religion. However, both technology and religion have been decisive agents on the human being's process of cultural evolution. They both operate in the human nature exciting those desires that daily build our history and life. They are attached to each other through ties that are closer than we usually imagine. Although they are independent cultural constructions, they keep between themselves some relationships that extend from the establishment of the first basic life conditions to the creation of myths which permeate our imaginary world. Moreover, they both act on the human being awakening the desires of transcendence, union, the discovery of mystery, pleasure, and seduction.
