- Abstract
The article focuses on the challenges faced by elementary schools in the study and teaching of science to school children in the San Diego, California. By and large elementary schools have shown signs of taking the many social problems in stride by the initiation of streamlined curricula and instructional methods. Discussions in this article will be focused on the shortcomings in the elementary program and present suggestions about how the science curriculum can be brought closer to the needs of the child and his society.
