- Abstract
Optimization of the mechanical properties of two solid‐phase materials is generally done by means of trial and error, which is time and resource intensive. Herein, the reliability of the classical structural models for predicting the strength of two ductile‐phase alloys and two solid‐phase alloys with one faceted phase is analyzed. It is demonstrated that the combinatorial structural models developed are a physically‐based, facile, rapid, and accurate tool to theoretically predict the strength when the microstructure is unknown.
