- Authors
Bier-Katz, G.
- Abstract
The article discusses prosthodontic care of children particularly, the handicapped children. Dentists state that the retarded children, who rarely enjoy a complete oral rehabilitation, can be treated without general anesthesia. They state that the extreme treatments including complete denture are also possible in a handicapped child as the adaptation to dentures by children are repeatedly found to be very good. It is stated that in case of mentally handicapped children without an ability to speak, it is necessary for the dentists to establish sufficient communication with the patient, so that treatment can be carried out without general anesthesia.
