- Abstract
The study aimed at revealing the effect of the use of mastery learning strategy on learning disability of female pupils in Arabic language subject in the State of Kuwait. The authors used the experimental method to address research questions. The study sample was divided into two groups, experimental group and control group. Bothe the experimenal grade and the control group consisted of (23) fourth - grade pupils at the primary school. The sample selection was based on diagnoses using three detection tools, linguistic intelligence test, achievement test in the Arabic subject, and the characteristics learning disabilities test. The experiment was carried out over five weeks period. Through this period, the experimental group was taught by the mastery learning strategy, while control group taught by the traditional way. The results showed that there are significant statistical differences between pre-testing and post-testing results in each of these areas (reading, reading comprehension, speech, and writing) between the control group and the experimental group in favor of the experimental group. The results also showed that there are significant statistical differences in the Arabic language skills in the above areas between the control group and the experimental group in favor of the experimental group. This indicates that the experimental program is effective on the pupils with learning difficulties in the Arabic language skills & achievement.
