A 57-year-old man was seen because of 2 tumour-like warty plaques of the scrotum, which were intensely itchy. A biopsy showed gross hyperkeratosis with acanthosis and papillomatosis in the epidermis and a chronic inflammatory infiltrate in the dermis. The diagnosis of giant lichenification of Pautrier was made and Locorten Tar ointment was prescribed. 20 days later, the patient returned beta use eczema had appeared on the scrotum and left upper thigh. Patch tests with the GIRDCA standard series, Locorten Tar as is, its constituents, and wood tars gave positive reactions to Locorten Tar as is, coal tar and wood tars.
