- Abstract
Azygos vein is formed at 7 to 10 weeks from last menstrual period, derived from the supracardinal system, with a cranial drainage into the superior vena cava. In a follow-up ultrasound with advanced echocardiography at 32+2 weeks, azygos vein dilatation was observed, with a 2 mm diameter, at expense of a left renal vein shunt identified with 4Dflow® (figure 1).
